AB 747 (2019) – AB 747 requires local jurisdictions that have not adopted a local hazard mitigation plan to review and update the safety element of their general plan, as necessary, to identify and analyze evacuation routes under a range of emergency scenarios.
Given the number of severe and fast-moving wildfires that are taking place in California, it is critical that local governments have effective safety elements in place.
